What does this calculator do?
It takes a liquid that is already mixed at one concentration and works out how to make a weaker concentration from it.
Use this when…
You already have a liquid solution with a known concentration, such as 10 mg/mL, and you want to dilute part of it to something weaker, such as 2 mg/mL.
Example: You have a liquid at 10 mg/mL. You want 5 mL of liquid at 2 mg/mL. PeppyCalc will tell you exactly how much of the 10 mg/mL liquid to use and how much diluent to add.

The calculator uses C1 × V1 = C2 × V2. It solves for the amount of starting solution (V1), then subtracts that from the final volume to find how much diluent to add.
